Mirza Ilyas Uddin Ahmed is MD again in Jamuna Bank
Mirza Ilyach Uddin Ahmed has been appointed as Managing Director and CEO of private Jamuna Bank Limited for another five years. His new term starts from October 21.
Mirza Ilyach Uddin Ahmed obtained his master’s degree in management from Dhaka University. He started his career in National Bank Limited in 1985. Later served in various important positions in Prime and Mercantile Bank. He joined Jamuna Bank as SAVP in 2001 and was promoted as Deputy Managing Director in 2013 and Additional Managing Director in 2016. On October 21, 2019, he took charge as the Managing Director and CEO of the bank. In his long career of 37 years, he performed various responsibilities including treasury management, risk management, foreign trade, corporate debt management.
Mirza Ilyach Uddin Ahmed completed his Diploma in Banking from The Institute of Bankers, Bangladesh (IBB). He is the founder general secretary of Bangladesh Money Market Dealers Association (BAMDA). Apart from this, he was the Chairman of the Technical Committee of Primary Dealers Bangladesh Limited and a member of Bangladesh Foreign Exchange Dealers Association.
