Pankaj Bhattacharya, president of Oikya NAP and one of the organizers of the Liberation War, said that he was shocked and surprised by the sudden increase in fuel prices. Apart from this, he also commented that the incident of death in the attack on the procession of political party in Bhola is condemnable.

On the occasion of Pankaj Bhattacharya’s 83rd birthday, the Combined Social Movement organized a discussion on Saturday afternoon. He said these things by joining the meeting virtually. The meeting was organized at the office of the Bangladesh Tennis Federation in the capital.

Pankaj Bhattacharya said that he has fought for positive changes in the country’s democratic politics through student movement throughout his life.

He urged all the patriotic forces on the side of the liberation war to unite to strengthen the struggle for the liberation of the small ethnic groups, minorities, workers-farmers and the people of the country even today.

Joining the meeting virtually, Sarwar Ali, a member of the Presidium of the Combined Social Movement, said that he is deeply concerned with the current situation in the country. Discrimination, exploitation, looting and communalism are flourishing in the country.

Sarwar Ali commented that Pankaj Bhattacharya is engaged in exploitation, looting and anti-communal struggle throughout his life. He said, ’62 Pankaj Bhattacharya’s politics of sacrifice in the anti-Ayub, Yahya movement, he is still adamant. He feels the urge to build up numerous Pankaj Bhattacharyas in the struggle for human liberation in the present day.

Oikya NAP presidium member and social movement presidium member SMA Sabur also spoke in the discussion meeting. The meeting was conducted by the general secretary of Samilit Samaj Andolan, Saleh Ahmed.
