Houston Govt looking for some finance Salles candidates

The Ipswich Finance Committee is seeking interest from the public to fill two vacant seats.

The committee is a nine-member body comprising citizens from the Ipswich community who are appointed by either the select board, town moderator, or at the annual town meeting. When a vacancy occurs due to an early departure or termination, the finance committee has the authority to temporarily fill the position. With the recent departure of two cherished members, the finance committee is soliciting membership from the public.

Although it is preferred to have some professional experience in, formal education of, or general exposure to business, finance, accounting, and/or municipal budgeting, it is not required. The only two requirements are to be a registered voter in the town of Ipswich and have ample time to donate.

The committee meets the second Tuesday of every month; however, in the weeks leading up to annual and special town meetings, as well as the municipal “budget season,” the committee meets much more frequently, sometimes twice a week. In total, there are roughly 30 meetings a year.

We will be interviewing candidates at our regularly scheduled June meeting next Tuesday, June 14 at 7:30 p.m. in the Ipswich Town Hall (25 Green Street), Meeting Room A, and voting on those candidates at our regularly scheduled July meeting.
